Drain Line Replacement/Repair

Drain Line Replacement/Repair

Learn More
The plumbing in your home is just as old as the house itself. Eventually, the drain lines can weaken and crack from age, temperature fluctuation, corrosion, clogs, etc. When they break, it can lead to leaks, odors, and the possibility for bacteria to spread. If you see signs of a leak or the smell of sewer, it’s possible that your drain lines could have a crack, clog, or both. Mike Tilton Quality Plumbing & Heating can locate the cause and determine the next steps to be discussed with the customer. We have multiple ways to pinpoint problem areas in your drainage system via our sewer video camera inspection and locating systems, which will also simplify any necessary repairs. Make sure to call 318-572-5149 as soon as you notice an issue.

Backflow Tested / Certified

Backflow Certified company

Learn More

We are a city and state-certified water supply protection specialist (WSPS #6308) meaning we are a backflow certified company.

Backflow prevention devices normally consist of mechanical check valves that help to prevent dirty or unsafe water from flowing backward into the clean water supply. This is extremely important to have during any unexpected event or a big change in water pressure. When properly installed and maintained, the backflow device will keep your drinking water safe and free of any harmful contaminants.

In most cases with municipal codes, it is required to have a backflow prevention device installed at every cross-connection point in the plumbing system of apartments, commercial buildings, condominiums, and public spaces. Backflow devices are also required on lawn sprinkler systems in a home. The kind of backflow device needed will be determined by the level of hazard at that location. We’re backflow certified (WSPS #6308) and can test and/or repair backflow devices. We also offer installation and replacement of these devices.

It is required by law to have these devices tested annually. Our team can install, maintain, and test these devices for you.

If you have been flagged by the city as being not in compliance with your backflow certification or if you are concerned about any potential hazards, give us a call at 318-572-5149

Slab Leaks

Slab Leaks

Learn More

Water leaks under your slab not only damage your property but also increase your water bill. Cracks in the walls, excessive moisture under your carpet, and the sound of constant running water are telltale signs that there is a leaking pipe under your slab that is in immediate need of repair. Additionally, a hot water slab leak can increase your gas and/or electric bill as well as your water bill. This is because your water heater is feeding the constant leak. A hot water slab leak can also be detected by a warm spot on your floor. (For an explanation of the necessary repairs see water line re-routes below).

At Mike Tilton Quality Plumbing & Heating, a family-owned and locally operated company, we have the tools and knowledge to locate and repair your under-slab leaks without causing heavy damage to your property (i.e. breaking & removing a concrete floor for access). Our team is always committed to the highest level of service and your satisfaction.

Water Line Re-Routes

Learn More

When copper water pipes start to leak under your foundation, they can cause severe damage to your property. These leaks can be repaired by our plumbers by re-routing the water line above the slab into the attic & down the wall to the fixture previously fed by the leaking line. This will render the leaking line under the slab “dead” & the fixture will have a new feed line with no changes to the pressure or volume.

Electronic Water Leak Detection

Learn More

We do not believe this method of leak detection is necessary. Our technicians can begin repairs on a slab leak in a short amount of time, often costing less than the detection services alone. With detection services, a large fee is charged and when the leak is located, the work to reroute the leaking line has to begin at that point, instead of already having been started.

Sewer Video Camera Inspection

Sewer Video Camera Inspection

Learn More

Another very popular service we offer is our drain line video camera inspection. We can put a camera into a drain line, from 2″ in diameter and up, and it will show in high definition the entire line and its condition. We take a video of this and can email it to our customers so they, too, have a record of their drain line conditions.

Another advantage to this work is the locating ability. We can locate the head of our camera in the ground within a few inches, including depth. This helps when we find a bad spot in the drain line because it tells us exactly where the problem is. Knowing this, we can dig down to this location instead of digging around in the yard searching for it. This saves a lot of time and cuts down on the customer’s cost. If you are having problems, or just wish to prevent potential future issues, just call Mike and we can set up a day and time for your sewer line video camera inspection!”

Sump Pump Installation/Repairs

Sump Pump Installation/Repairs

Learn More

Sump pumps keep your basement or areas under your house from flooding by redirecting water away. If your sump pump stops working, the next time rainy conditions occur. This could be detrimental to your property. It’s best to catch any problems before the sump pump stops working altogether. We recommend having your sump pump checked annually to ensure it’s working properly. If your sump pump stops working correctly, give us a call. We can test & repair the pump for you. If the sump pump is irreparable, we can remove it and install a new one.

Tankless Water Heaters

Tankless Water Heater Repair & Installation

Learn More

Are you having issues with your water heater running out of hot water? Or perhaps is it time to replace it? If you are already going through the expense of a tank type water heater replacement, this is the time to consider a tankless as its replacement. We have a wealth of knowledge and experience repairing, replacing, and installing any brand, make, and model of tankless water heater. We are a certified Rinnai installation, maintenance, and repair company.

Tankless Water Heater Install Types & Costs

Installing tankless water heaters varies greatly based on the circumstances. We can briefly describe a few common types of installation and the approximate costs involved below. There are also different flow rates for these water heaters. You can check these along with other performance specifications, etc at Rinnai’s website , which is our tankless water heater brand of choice.

Tankless water heater systems for residential applications are often Rinnai models RL75, RL94, and RUR199. The numbers represent the gallons per minute (GPM) these water heaters provide. We can assess your home’s demand and recommend the correct water heater size for you. Tankless water heaters also come in two types – interior and exterior. With interior tankless water heaters you will need to run a vent through your roof similar to the tank water heaters, but the tankless vent system is a different type and the tank-type water heater vent piping cannot be reused. Tank water heaters in attics make for perfect tankless install replacement conditions. The vent run is typically short, and the water and gas piping are usually available close to the location of the install. To remove a tank-type water heater in the attic and replace it with a tankless one usually costs in the $4,500 – $6,500 range. Replacing a tank-type water heater in an interior room or closet with a tankless usually costs a couple hundred more due to the vent through the roof distance. Any tank-type water heater can be replaced with a tankless water heater, just give us a call and we can go over the options and pricing with you.

**If you believe you have a gas leak, leave your home or office immediately, and call your local gas company.

Gas Leaks

Carbon monoxide gas leaks are serious as they can be flammable and fatal. Natural gas is used to heat the water in your home. If there is a slow leak, it can go undetected, especially if it is in your house or attic. The most obvious sign of a gas leak is the smell of rotten eggs. This smell, which is actually Mercaptan (an odorant) has been artificially added to natural gas because natural gas is odorless in its natural state. If you smell rotten eggs, leave your home and call us immediately. It is an emergency and it’s imperative to have the leak found and corrected right away. We are available for 24-hour emergency calls at 318-572-5149

Gas Meter Reinstallation

If the gas company has removed your gas meter due to leaks or any other issue, they require city approval of the gas system before they will reinstall the meter and provide your home with gas once again. At Mike Tilton Quality Plumbing & Heating, we are licensed experts and specialize in this entire process. All it takes is a phone call to set us up to come out and perform the required work. We will also handle the city permits and inspections process for you. Once we have your information, the work can begin on getting the natural gas system inspected and certified by the city. You will have your gas back on in no time! Just call to schedule an appointment because we understand you need the gas in your home or office working sooner rather than later.

Water Piping System Leaks

Water Piping System Leaks

Learn More

A leaky pipe can go for weeks without being noticed. That’s because it can be as subtle as a slow drip or an unnoticed constant stream of water. Over time, these can lead to corroded pipes which result in higher water bills along with varying degrees of property damage. If you have noticed these signs, you may have a leak. If you feel you do have a leak just give us a call or schedule an appointment  & we can assess the situation & make any necessary repairs for you.

Drain Cleaning Solutions

Drain Cleaning Solutions

Learn More

From your kitchen sink to your bathroom, drains begin to clog over time, causing them to run slower as the build-up of soap, grease, and piping deposits/decay continues to slowly clog up your pipes. If you are experiencing slower drains, the professional plumbers at Mike Tilton Quality Plumbing & Heating are here to help.

Our local, family-owned and operated company has the experience & skill to unstop any drain in your home or business. We also offer video camera drain line inspections which can locate a potential problem spot or area in your sewer piping system. We also offer locating equipment so we can then fix the issue without exploratory work which can lead to unnecessary damage to your property. With a wide range of the necessary drain cleaning equipment, we can leave your drain pipes free and clear to get your drainage piping system back to normal operating condition.

Sewer Jetting
At Mike Tilton Quality Plumbing & Heating we offer sewer jetting services. This is a powerful high-pressure water jetting nozzle that can cut through and clear out anything that has formed inside of a drain pipe, which can cause the drainage system to eventually back up. This equipment will have the worst type of caked-on sludge, scale, and debris eliminated leaving the piping in like-new condition. No cable can do this and that’s why this is a popular option for troublesome sewer lines. Regular maintenance using this equipment is always a good idea in order to maintain a sparkling clean & trouble free drain line. Keep in mind, breaks in your drain line are not related to this.

This jetting service combined with our camera will visually ensure a 100% verified cleared & clean sewer main. A thoroughly jetted sewer line will also expose any issues with the integrity of the piping due to the removal of any and all elements which may have camouflaged these issues previously.

Apartment complexes where tenants tend to flush items detrimental to the sewers operation can especially benefit from this service. We also provide scheduled maintenance jetting to ensure there is no large build up that can eventually result in sewer lines that are unable to be unstopped without immediate repair.
