Backflow Tested / Certified
Backflow Certified company
Learn More
We are a city and state-certified water supply protection specialist (WSPS #6308) meaning we are a backflow certified company.
Backflow prevention devices normally consist of mechanical check valves that help to prevent dirty or unsafe water from flowing backward into the clean water supply. This is extremely important to have during any unexpected event or a big change in water pressure. When properly installed and maintained, the backflow device will keep your drinking water safe and free of any harmful contaminants.
In most cases with municipal codes, it is required to have a backflow prevention device installed at every cross-connection point in the plumbing system of apartments, commercial buildings, condominiums, and public spaces. Backflow devices are also required on lawn sprinkler systems in a home. The kind of backflow device needed will be determined by the level of hazard at that location. As mentioned above, we are backflow certified (WSPS #6308) and can test and/or repair backflow devices. We also offer installation and replacement of these devices.
It is required by law to have these devices tested annually. Our team can install, maintain, and test these devices for you.
If you have been flagged by the city as being not in compliance with your backflow certification or if you are concerned about any potential hazards, give us a call at 318-572-5149
Slab Leaks
Slab Leaks
Learn More
Water leaks under your slab not only damage your property but also increase your water bill. Cracks in the walls, excessive moisture under your carpet, and the sound of constant running water are telltale signs that there is a leaking pipe under your slab that is in immediate need of repair. Additionally, a hot water slab leak can increase your gas and/or electric bill as well as your water bill. This is because your water heater is feeding the constant leak. A hot water slab leak can also be detected by a warm spot on your floor. (For an explanation of the necessary repairs see water line re-routes below).
At Mike Tilton Quality Plumbing & Heating, a family-owned and locally operated company, we have the tools and knowledge to locate and repair your under-slab leaks without causing heavy damage to your property (i.e. breaking & removing a concrete floor for access). Our team is always committed to the highest level of service and your satisfaction.
Water Line Re-Routes
Learn More
When copper water pipes start to leak under your foundation, they can cause severe damage to your property. These leaks can be repaired by our plumbers by re-routing the water line above the slab into the attic & down the wall to the fixture previously fed by the leaking line. This will render the leaking line under the slab “dead” & the fixture will have a new feed line with no changes to the pressure or volume.
Electronic Water Leak Detection
Learn More
We do not believe this method of leak detection is necessary. Our technicians can begin repairs on a slab leak in a short amount of time, often costing less than the detection services alone. With detection services, a large fee is charged and when the leak is located, the work to reroute the leaking line has to begin at that point, instead of already having been started.
Sewer Video Camera Inspection
Sewer Video Camera Inspection
Learn More
Another very popular service we offer is our drain line video camera inspection. We can put a camera into a drain line, from 2″ in diameter and up, and it will show in high definition the entire line and its condition. We take a video of this and can email it to our customers so they, too, have a record of their drain line conditions.
Another advantage to this work is the locating ability. We can locate the head of our camera in the ground within a few inches, including depth. This helps when we find a bad spot in the drain line because it tells us exactly where the problem is. Knowing this, we can dig down to this location instead of digging around in the yard searching for it. This saves a lot of time and cuts down on the customer’s cost. If you are having problems, or just wish to prevent potential future issues, just call Mike and we can set up a day and time for your sewer line video camera inspection!”
Sump Pump Installation/Repairs
Sump Pump Installation/Repairs
Learn More
Sump pumps keep your basement or areas under your house from flooding by redirecting water away. If your sump pump stops working, the next time rainy conditions occur it could be detrimental to your property. It’s best to catch any problems before the sump pump stops working altogether. We recommend having your sump pump checked annually to ensure it’s working properly. If your sump pump stops working correctly, give us a call. We can test & repair the pump for you. If the sump pump is irreparable, we can remove it and install a new one.

We are also a certified Rinnai tankless installation, maintenance, and repair company. We have a variety of options for you to consider. Just give us a call and we can take care of you from start to finish on the process of getting endless hot water for you and your family.
Tankless Water Heater Install Types & Costs
Installing tankless water heaters varies greatly based on the circumstances. We can briefly describe a few common types of installation and the approximate costs involved below. There are also different flow rates for these water heaters. You can check these along with other performance specifications, etc at Rinnai’s website , which is our tankless water heater brand of choice.
Tankless water heater systems for residential applications are often Rinnai models RL75, RL94, and RUR199. The numbers represent the gallons per minute (GPM) these water heaters provide. We can assess your home’s demand and recommend the correct water heater size for you. Tankless water heaters also come in two types – interior and exterior. With interior tankless water heaters you will need to run a vent through your roof similar to the tank type water heaters, but the tankless vent system is a different type and the tank-type water heater vent piping cannot be reused. Tank water heaters in attics make for perfect tankless install replacement conditions. The vent run is typically short, and the water and gas piping are usually available close to the location of the install. To remove a tank-type water heater in the attic and replace it with a tankless one usually costs in the $4,500 – $6,500 range. Replacing a tank-type water heater in an interior room or closet with a tankless usually costs a couple hundred more due to the vent through the roof distance. Any tank-type water heater can be replaced with a tankless water heater, just give us a call and we can go over the options and pricing with you.

Your home is your family’s sanctuary, and you should feel good knowing that your natural gas piping system is safe and leak-free. Natural gas is generally very safe, but nothing is perfect and homeowners need to be vigilant and knowledgeable about the chance of natural gas leaks.
At Mike Tilton Quality Plumbing & Heating, we are licensed experts in the repair, replacement, and testing of your natural gas system for gas meter re-installation or your peace of mind. We can perform these tests for both residential and commercial customers. In addition to gas piping, the repair, replacement, and servicing of your space heaters, floor, and wall furnaces, etc. can also be performed by us. There is no charge to any elderly customers to light a pilot in a gas fixture in preparation for winter.
**If you believe you have a gas leak, leave your home or office immediately, and call your local gas company.
Gas Leaks
Gas leaks are serious as they can be fatal. Natural gas is used to heat your home as well as the water in your home. If there is a slow leak, it can go undetected, especially if it is in your house. The most obvious sign of a gas leak is the smell of rotten eggs. This smell, which is actually Mercaptan (an odorant) has been artificially added to natural gas because natural gas is odorless in its natural state. If you smell rotten eggs, leave your home and call the gas company immediately. They will shut off the gas to your house. It’s imperative to have the leak found and corrected right away so that your gas can be turned back on quickly. The gas company will not turn your gas back on for you without the gas system within your home being made safe for use. The gas company will not perform this work, only a certified plumbing company can, and this process involves city permits and inspections.
Gas Meter Reinstallation
If the gas company has removed your gas meter due to leaks or any other issue, they require city approval of the gas system before they will reinstall the meter and provide your home with gas once again. At Mike Tilton Quality Plumbing & Heating, we are licensed experts and specialize in this entire process. All it takes is a phone call to set us up to come out and perform the required work. We will also handle the city permits and inspections process for you. Once we have your information, the work can begin on getting the natural gas system inspected and certified by the city. You will have your gas back on in no time! Just call to schedule an appointment because we understand you need the gas in your home or office working sooner rather than later.

If you feel you do have a leak just give us a call or schedule an appointment & we can assess the situation & make any necessary repairs for you.
